Where Is Love?
I've been gone five days from my home - my computer, most importantly. Forty-four emails in my Inbox - not one of them from a friend or relative.
Do you have any idea how demoralizing that is? Geez!
So...we briefly visited Block Island. It was a bit of a struggle trip. Missed boats, misplaced keys (you know, the beep-y, electronic, expensive to replace kind), challenging environment for a toddler, etc. The toddler has returned home having learned to growl and do this bulldog kind of face. The teenager has returned home grounded. The husband and wife are hardly even talking to each other and the dog almost ran into the freeway at the rest stop (another long, let's not go there story).
I love the holidays.
My other Inbox - the one connected to this blog - had seven email messages. One of them was from Sam, the rest were spam.
What happened to the love?
I'm gearing up all my thoughts for what kind of New Year's posting I just may have. I did enjoy (almost) all of the comments from friendly (and some not so friendly) faces on/from/near Block Island that told me they've been reading my blog and enjoying themselves. I've also been told that I would love soduku (did I even come close to what the word's supposed to be?) - the newest craze to hit those of us with a computer and no lives. I probably would love it. I'm just scared it'll suck in my precious free hour (in 30 min. increments) so I haven't checked it out yet. When I stop posting for weeks at a time, then you'll know.
Did I mention that in five days Sam was the only person - friend, foe or relative - that emailed me? People, people...The love I'm gettin' to my face ain't jivin' with the love I'm gettin' to my Virtual Reality.
Hope your holidays were filled with lots of good things and fattening foods.
